Commemorating the 543 birth celebrations of the first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak, a ‘Nagar Keertan’ procession was taken out from Gurudwara Guru Singh Sabha, Afzalgunj, by the members of Sikh community on Monday. The procession contained elements like display of Sikh martial arts, Gatka, rendering of Shabad Keertans, carrying of Guru Granth Sahibji and Nishan Sahebans, a press release said. Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak will be celebrated on November 28 and a ‘Vishaal Deewan’ will be held at N. T. R Stadium, near Indira Park, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the occasion.
The event will be marked by the recitations of Gurbani Keertans. Bhai Dalbir Singh of Sri Harmandir Sahibji, Bhai Onkar Singh of Una Saheb wale, Bhai Jaswinder Singh, Bhai Hari Singh Hazuri Ragi Jathas, Bhai Gurdit Singh and others will recite keertans and Kathas during the event. A free community kitchen, Guru Ka Langar, will also be held on the occasion. Night Keertan Darbars will be organised at Gurudwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha on November 27 from 7.30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and at Gurudwara Saheb, Secunderabad, on November 28 from 9 p.m. to 2.30 a.m.
