Whether it is a business or a vacation that brings you to the “City of Pearls”, Hyderabad offers a wide range of wonderful accommodations to choose from. I just recently came back from a business trip in Canada and had a hard time choosing from the pool of the many luxury hotels in Victoria BC. As far as India is concerned, if you are aiming for the best: here they are, the finest hotels of Hyderabad.
Taj Falaknuma Palace Hotel
For over one hundred years the Falaknuma palace was the residence of the monarch dynasty of Hyderabad. Three years ago the former palace was restored and converted into a luxury accommodation: the Taj Falaknuma Palace hotel has opened its doors to the guests.
In the middle of aesthetically arranged gardens lays this architectural masterpiece. The elegant courtyard with its fountains, statues and paths offers an oasis of quietness. Panoramic views of Hyderabad unfold from the terraces in front of the palace. The moment you step in, is the moment the fairytale begins. The foyer with delicate frescos leads to the entrance hall with a majestic staircase. The décor of the rooms is elegant and graceful and since it is a genuine palace, there is much more to discover.
Apart from the billiard room and the ballroom, there is a dining room with the table, which is said to be the longest in the world and the jade room, where such royalties as Queen Mary and King Edward VIII took their afternoon tea. There are four restaurants on site and although the food is excellent, probably the most memorable meal is the breakfast on the terrace overlooking the city.
The Park Hyderabad
The ultramodern building in the Somajiguda district has already gained its status as a landmark, although it was built only three years ago. Overlooking the Hussain Sagar Lake, the design of the Park hotel reflects the aquatic ambience. Since IT companies and financial institutions are located there, it is a great place to stay during business trips. Transportation is convenient as well; the Necklace road MMTS station is just across the road. The NTR garden and the Lumbini park are nearby.
The Lobby of the hotel fascinates everyone through its minimalistic design with colorful details. Stylish and spacious rooms feature ultramodern glassed bathrooms with futuristic night lamps, which appear like a porthole. The décor of the suites is kept in an Indian traditional style. Apart from the nightclub and a poolside bar, there are three restaurants serving the Continental and Asian cuisine. The staff of this five star hotel offers a great service, taking excellent care of their guests.
Taj Krishna Hotel
The upscale Taj Krischna Hotel is located in the renowned Banjara Hills district. Situated among palm and acacia trees, within walking distance to Jalagam Vengal Rao park and such shopping malls as GVK one and City Center, it presents a great starting point to explore the city. Now and then a Maserati or a Ferrari can be spotted there.
The spacious Lobby with ornate columns, marble floor and a timeless fountain look impressive. Several boutiques with designer clothes are located on site. The traditionally decorated rooms are generously sized. Some have amazing views of the pool area and the gardens.
The lounge bar with live music is well stocked and cozy. The amenities include four on site restaurants, a pool and a steam room, a well-equipped fitness center, a ballroom and a library: all that comes with an outstanding service, that leaves no wishes unfulfilled.
